If you are interested in the arts and culture scene in Sudbury then you should check out the Art Gallery of Sudbury this November. Until November 10th, 2019, you are invited to the special exhibition by Joshua MangeshigPawis- Steckley, an emerging Anishinaabeg legends painter, entitled Oshikimaadiziig: The New People.
This Wasauksing First nation painter and illustrator has been exhibiting his works across Canada since 2015 after graduating from the Graphic Design Program at Nova Scotia Community College in Halifax in 2014.
His works, especially those in the Oshkimaadiziig: The New People exhibit explore the Anishinaabeg Seven Fires Prophecies in order to educate the youth on the history of the Anishinaabeg migration and relation between indigenous and settler society.
