The Best Oktoberfest Event in Sudbury, Ontario 2016

Oktoberfest, an internationally beloved festival, dates back to Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen’s wedding in Bavaria 1810. To celebrate, guests threw a huge festival on October 17th, a tradition lasting centuries. Although some festivities have been lost, new ones have emerged over the years. For instance, lederhosen and dirndls became the garb-of-choice in 1887. Now, people around the world dress up to imbue craft beers; snack on unhealthy amounts of pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel and sauerkraut; and enjoy great Polka music!
Here in Canada, there are a few major events that take place every September to October. Kitchener-Waterloo hosts the biggest Oktoberfest, but there are other great celebrations to note. In fact, Sudbury throws a pretty spectacular party every year.
