Choosing the Right Footwear for Your Trip

Choosing the Right Footwear for Your Trip

When on a trip, your footwear can make the world of a difference. The wrong choice of footwear can lead to discomfort and ruin your vacation experience and prevent you from really participating in activities you were looking forward to. So, how can we ensure that we always have the right footwear for the occasion when travelling?

Recognize the Purpose Behind Your Trip

To properly prepare for a trip, you must understand what your trip will consist of. For instance, are you going on a two-day business trip or a two-week vacation, where you plan to hike and explore the town? Both of these are travel scenarios; however, they have very different levels of physicality and would definitely have different footwear needs.

So, before you can think about footwear selection, it’s important to first understand what your trip will consist of.

Know What to Look for in Travel Shoes

Depending on the length and nature of your trip, you may be able to get away with one pair of footwear; however, in other instances, you’ll need a couple to get it done. Here is how to distinguish between the different types of shoes for a trip.

Walking Shoes

Walking are meant to keep you happy and comfortable when walking for extended periods of time. With these shoes, comfort and support are essential and should take priority over style.

Dress Shoes

Dress shoes are great for adding style to your travel footwear. It’s important to keep space in mind if you plan on bringing more than one pair, as you’ll have to pack the rest. Dress shoes should be versatile enough to go with a number of different outfits and be durable as well.

Activity Shoes

Your activity shoes are that one pair dedicated to a specific activity you plan on doing during your travels. This activity could include, boots for hiking, dancing shoes or sandals for a walk on the beach.
