Activities to Enjoy This Winter with Your Kids
Winter is almost upon us! Despite the freezing temperatures that accompany this season in Ontario, there are many winter activities that can help you create longlasting memories with your children for years to come. So, here are some activities that will help you and your kids have a blast this winter!
Go Sledding
Sledding is a classic winter activity and has been enjoyed by families for years and years! So, as the temps drop and snowflakes begin to blanket the ground, grab your sled, your winter jacket and take your little one(s) to the hills. Keep in mind that safety should always be a top priority and wearing bicycle helmets is a great precaution to protect your child, should they wipe out on their sled.
Make Homemade Hot Chocolate
With everything outside being icy and cold, nothing warm’s you up better than a nice cup of hot chocolate. Not only will you and your child enjoy the drink; but, including your child in the creation of the beverage will give them a sense of accomplishment and give you the opportunity to bond with them.
Build a Snow Fort
When the snow has fallen and covers the ground in an enormous blanket, you know the time has arrived to build a snow fort! And don’t just settle for an average snow fort, have your kids plan it out beforehand. This will help them grow creatively while allowing them to participate in a fun activity with you in the snow.
Have a Snowball Fight
If you’ve already built your snow fort, then it’s time to have a snowball fight. With kids, it’s important to set ground rules for snowball fights beforehand to ensure everyone has fun without being hurt.
