It may come as a surprise to some, but Sudbury is a great vacation spot. It’s chock full of Canadian flavor and experiences, and If you ever feel the need to feel a little more Canadian, come to Sudbury, Ontario. I have put together a short list of fun things to do, but this is just scratching the surface. There is so much more to do and see that can ever be described in one blog post, so you’ll just have to see it for yourself.

1. Visit Vermillion Lake

If there is one thing that Sudbury does not lack, it is lakes. With a total of 330 of them, it’s difficult to choose which to go, see and enjoy. Vermillion Lake is located just outside of Sudbury and it’s a fly trap for anyone that loves nature. With its beautiful views and active wildlife, it’s a great place to bring your family for some fishing and swimming fun.

4. Go back in time at the Sudbury Basin

The Sudbury Basin is a major geological structure that is sure to make your trip to Sudbury well worth it. The Basin is a large crater that was made by a bolide, which is an extremely bright meteor. It spans over 62 km long, 30 km wide, and 15 km deep. If you’re in the mood to explore an ancient crater then you’re in the right place. This is an experience of a lifetime.
