One of Sudbury’s many great aspects is its vast amount of natural. With so many hiking trails and municipal parks, outdoor activities can be a great option. So, here are four reasons why you should check out our parks this summer!
1. Pack a Picnic
Picnics are a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon in the park. Take a group of your closest friends and enjoy each other’s company while enjoying good food. For ideas on how to hold a really awesome picnic, click here.
2. Fly a Kite
If picnics aren’t for you, take to the park for kite flying! Not only does this activity get you outdoors, with the sky as your background, watching a colourful kite sail across the sky can be a peaceful way to spend the afternoon. Kite flying is also an activity that promotes social interaction. Participating in the activity with friends and family can make for an even better experience.
3. Watch Clouds
You may be questioning this one; however, cloud watching is actually a great way to relax, de-stress and clear your mind. Remember, some of life’s best shows are free. Cloud watching combines the sky’s lighting and the form and positioning of the clouds to create an absolutely beautiful display.
4. Engage in Physical Activity
Large parks are a perfect space to stay active. Take your exercise to the park and engage in jogging, long walks, biking or rollerblading. If the park allows dogs to be off leash, it can make a great place to exercise your canine-companion as well for all the dog owners out there.
